New fencing in the Gródek refuge.

A few days ago, we inspected how our new "electric" fence at the Gródek location works.
The fenced area is more than 30 hectares in size and has been in operation for several weeks.
The landscape here offers a delightful variety, with expansive, arid dune in the northern part and marshy meadows in the southern section.
The entire electric fence structure is our idea, and we dedicated approximately three months to its construction, involving the work of two field workers plus the assistance of volunteers.
The fence posts are made of recycled materials, which have proven to be highly effective for our purposes.
The plot is surrounded by ditches, in which we dam up the water for the breeding season so as to maintain the floodplains on the wetland part.
This year, we have numerous breeding lapwings and redshanks on the meadow, and we have also witnessed a pair of cranes successfully raising two chicks within the enclosed space. Fortunately, both the chicks and their parents have now moved beyond the confines of the fence. Our dream is to have breeding grounds for the common curlew – these birds visit the vicinity of Gródek, although they have yet to choose it for nesting.
From July until early December, this area is grazed by our Polish Konik horses.
During our inspection, we identified a drop in voltage, prompting us to perform the first necessary trimming, which was also done.
