Our ponies are happy – no more ticks and flies, they are not bothered by the heat – they are now grazing in peace gaining weight, as they need to fatten up for the winter.
Is frozen grass tastier than fresh grass?
Does it acquire new flavors after freezing? We observe that tufts untouched throughout the season now are systematically eaten out.
The ponies will remain in the pastures until early December and then return to Kalitnik for wintering, as they do every year. We are slowly but steadily replacing the fences in these quarters with new ones.
In the photos you can see how in a few hours 5 people took down 270 m of old fencing, pulled out and collected old nails. The wood was sorted and stacked. Only the toughest posts are left in the meadow, which will be taken out by a professional team that installs new posts made of recycled plastics. In this way, we will replace 2,700 linear meters of fencing. The lifespan of wooden fences is about 5-7 years in our peat bogs. The manufacturer's warranty for plastic fencing components is 20 years.
