Visit to Brussels
Our representatives were invited to Brussels to present our latest project aimed at protecting Eurasian Curlews in Poland.
We had just a few minutes to present the implementation plan for this large undertaking.
We were so caught up in the excitement that we completely forgot to take any photos during the presentation!
In our ornithological group, there were 10 projects focused on various bird species, including: protecting the three-toed gull in Belgium, preventing the extinction of several bird species in French Polynesia, protecting chestnut-colored vultures in Bulgaria and Greece, and the southern eagle in Sardinia.
We were particularly interested in a project focused on protecting the Montagu’s harrier in Portugal. We had long discussions with the Portuguese team in the corridors, and we hope to meet them again in the field.
Two projects are focused on the protection of the little crake. One of them involves relocating nests with chicks to new areas as part of a reintroduction program.
Another LIFE project aims to protect migratory birds along the Adriatic coast by securing power lines – a similar effort to what we did in the white stork protection project.
